Coffee Princess

Though I have a lot of work to do, here I am updating my blog again. I can smell the summer fragance and feel its hotness. The beginning of summer 2008 is quite hot, don't you agree? It makes me want to eat ice cream and drink a super cold mango shake. And oh, by just thinking about them, I feel hungry. Haha.

Last Monday, I went home (dorm) early because I wanted to study for our chemistry quiz. Maggie and I didn't meet as we usually do because she also had to do a school work. When Joy arrived, she told me that she's going to Starbucks because Ell gave her something and she wanted to use it. It was like a Starbucks promo. Anyway, because I wasn't in the mood to study yet, I decided to go with her since I haven't visited the Starbucks branch in Taft Avenue. The coffee scented shop was really tempting. I wanted to buy a mocha frap! However, I controlled myself because I'm saving my allowance to buy something I really want to have. While waiting for Joy's coffee, I saw the different brochures near the cashier area. Since I didn't buy anything, I got every brochure. Joy jokingly said, "Dana, baka gusto mo rin kumuha ng mga sugar? Haha". I said, "Di na Joy, di ko naman kailangan ng sugar eh. Haha. Ito nalang mga brochures. Para kahit hindi ako bumili ng something, masasabi na galing akong Starbucks. Libre pa! O di ba? Haha." (while showing her the brochures)

Before studying for chemistry, I looked at the brochures from Starbucks. My jaw dropped when I realized that I accidently got an application form. I felt lucky because I wanted to apply there for a summer job. Unfortunately, I suddenly remembered what Ocha said before, that they're only accepting applicants who are 18 years old and above. I'm not yet 18! I still have seven months to wait before I turn 18. Oh well, I'll try my luck. I'd visit the Starbucks in Paseo in Sta. Rosa, Laguna and inquire before our "short" vacation ends. Haha. I'm really hoping and keeping my fingers crossed. *sigh* =)

An Apple a Day...

I just finished reading the special issue of Ang Pahayagang Plaridel. I don’t have any idea what really motivated me to write this one at the moment. While my room mates are now enjoying themselves in Dreamland (I hope you get my idea), I, on the other hand, am still awake, typing down all my thoughts as I listen to the music of the Click Five, Howie Day, and the Jonas Brothers.

Perhaps, I am inspired by what I have read because the articles are very much related to my course, which is Early Childhood Education. The special issue of APP talks about the social issues and concerns of the schools in our country today, such as the quality of education for both public and private schools, tuition fees, the so- called “world class standards”, fraternities and sororities, gifted- children, and the like. The whole content of the issue for this month is very informative because it helps students like me, particularly in our college, the College of Education, to be aware of what is currently happening in the world of education. For this reason, by being aware, we can apply what we have learned in school (the theories, etc.) and can possibly make a difference in the lives of our fellow Filipinos.

People! I’m excited to share with you my microteaching experience I had a while ago in our PTEACH class. However, I really have to go to sleep because I still have classes tomorrow. I would grab this opportunity because it only happens once in a blue moon. I’ll tell you about it next time. Good bye and good night! =)

Reality Bites

It is almost summer and we are still not yet on vacation. Unlike the others who spend the time of their lives at the beaches, we, on the other hand, are busy doing and finishing the requirements given to us by our professors. We still have classes after Easter Sunday and while the other people are enjoying partying around, we are cramming and worrying about our works, and wondering if we were to get a 3.5 or 4.0 grade in our outputs. Life is totally unfair.

I'm done doing my final paper for PTEACH 1 and the instructional material for FSTUDY2 (actually, I recycled the material. Haha. Lo and I will submit the puzzle I made last term for ECEDPRN. Haha.) but there are a lot of things to be accomplished such as my microteaching presentation together with the lesson plan, the papers (note: the PAPERS) for ECEDSED due next week, the game for STATLIT, and the reporting- final requirement for FACLERN. In addition to that, me and my classmates have to study for our finals in ECEDSED, STATLIT, and chemistry. So much to do, less time to work. Hassle. Haay.

Okay, I have to say good bye! I will do what I can do today since I'm in the mood to do these stuff. I'll update as soon as I'm finished and done with everything. =) Enjoy your vacation people and Happy Easter! =)

Changing for the Better

Right now, I feel that I won't be a dean's lister for this term. The subjects are easy to understand, but when it comes to assessment, I don't get satisfied with the results I get, even if I always try my best. I don't know what's happening to me. Last term, I gained points through reciting in class. My second term is a blessing...will my third and last term in my frosh year in DLSU be a blessing too? I really really hope so. I don't want to be "out" of the dean's list. I should recite more, and be more serious in my studies. I know the feeling...and I don't want to feel the same again. I hope you get my point.

I want to change the way I am when it comes to academics and school. No more laziness and manyana habit. Yes to hardworking, being dedicated to my studies, doing what I can do for today, and being a fast "mover". Good bye to insecurities and sensitiveness. It's not about being a nerd. I want to have a life too, you know. Haha. I'm changing for the better because I want to achieve my dreams, such as becoming a pre-school teacher, being successful in the near future, and being able to travel around the world. =)

Hip Hop Abs

May naisip akong paraan at nakuha ko ito sa aking blockmate-kaibigan: Hip Hop Abs ni Shaun T. Sa pamamagitan nito, it would be easier to burn fats and lose weight by dancing and having fun. Diba, walang side-effects? Haha. Haha.=) In a more serious tone, dapat magkaroon tayo ng disiplina sa sarili upang mamayat, ok? Magandang Gabi sa inyong lahat! =)
