Colorful, Fun, and Quirky

First of all, I'd like to apologize for the previous entry that I posted. I just realized that the video couldn't be seen unless we're friends on Facebook. I didn't think about the restrictions and privacy settings as I was too excited to share with you the funny video of myself and my gradeschool friends while singing along to Bruno Mars' Locked Out of Heaven. I'll post the video again as soon as Chia uploads it on Youtube. ;)

I'm on break until the end of this week. I took advantage of my free time by cleaning my room and organizing my stuff. I'm really thankful because I get to do these things. Cleaning my room and putting my stuff on its proper places make me feel productive in a way. And oh, I started running since everyone I know (including my friends' mothers) keep telling me that I gained a lot of weight. The word diet has finally made a spot on my vocabulary. Boo. I hope to be back in shape (not to mention slimmer) by May. Keeping my fingers crossed. :p

On a totally random note, have you ever had days when you feel like you have nothing to wear? While I was cleaning my closet the other day, I had a wake up call: I have clothes to wear but I'm too busy thinking that I have nothing to wear so I always end up wearing the same clothes over and over again. Plus, I have completely forgotten that I own this and that. That's why I experimented and mixed and matched my clothes to give them a new twist.

Top: Just G | Denim Shorts: Herbench
Since summer has already begun in the Philippines, I opted for a colorful, fun, and quirky ensemble. Summer is about being fun and carefree so I chose to wear this cute shirt from Just G. I paired it with this pair of denim shorts which I haven't worn for a long time. Good thing it still fits me. :p

Bracelets and necklace: from friends | Watch and hat: SM Accessories
In addition, I made sure to wear accessories. I used these candy colored peace bracelets which I got from Teacher Joy and the cute mustache necklace from Teacher Hazel. :) I also wore this cute watch and hat from SM department store, kids' section. Yes, at my age, I still buy things from the kids' section. If only you're matiyaga, you'll be able to find nice things from that section too. ;)

Sandals: Penshoppe
I bought this pair of red sandals from Penshoppe as soon as I laid eyes on it. Okay, this is not impulsive buying. Before paying for this pair, I had a thorough reflection and weighed if this is a matter of wants over needs and vice versa. Then I thought, these sandals can go with everything and they can be classy or casual, depending on your outfit. And they're a good catch because they only cost less than 300php. Can you believe that? 50% discount! That sealed the deal. I had no regrets after.

Wow, feeling fashion blogger lang ako pero I'm not. ;) I just had a great time mixing and matching the clothes in my closet.

Have a great summer and Happy Easter to all of you! :)

Because today is your birthday, you deserve a spot on my blog. Happy, happy birthday Chia! :) Cheers to sixteen years of friendship! :) <3>

Were all these years of hoping for you just a waste of time?

Is this worth fighting for? It has been years... Give up ka na, please. :(

Hindi lumilipas ang isang araw na hindi siya sumasagi sa iyong isipan...

Ngunit, iniisip ka rin ba niya? Sana, ganun din siya. Sana.

The 19th Day of March

In twenty minutes, a chapter in my life is about to end. It has been an incredible journey with my toddlers and Teacher Mariel. I feel really blessed because I've been given this wonderful opportunity to grow as a preschool teacher. What I learned from the past nine months helped me discover my strengths and weaknesses when it comes to dealing with children. Yes, the old notes from college and the hand-outs given to us had helped me in understanding our cute little angels but I learned more from experience. Now, I can proudly say that experience is indeed the best teacher. :)

My toddlers may be makulit at times but I have learned to love them. I'm so proud of what they have achieved! They made my first year of teaching (preschool) fun, fruitful, and exciting. :) Tomorrow is officially the last day of our preschool classes. And I will try not to be emotional tomorrow. ;)

Someone close to me is celebrating her birthday today. Happy, happy birthday Teacher Joy! I feel lucky and grateful for having you as a colleague and a friend. Thank you for being there and for giving me unsolicited advices. I learn a lot from you! :) Enjoy this day! Stay sweet and nice. *hug*

P.S. You should meet Margaret too. :))

The 17th Day of March

I just realized that I've been active on Instagram lately. I keep taking photos of the things I find interesting and cute. Like I said in my other post, taking photos has become my "Kitkat moment". ;) And each photo that I post on Instagram has a story. I don't post just because. ;)

Let me share with you some of the photos, in no particular order:

I fell in love with this pair of sandals upon seeing it at Orange Juice (a clothes shop for girls). This is one of my favorites because this pair is so comfy and it looks pretty on my feet. Hahaha!  Plus the color is so lovely. I always wear this when I go on daytime trips or when I go to malls.

This pair of boat shoes came all the way from New York. Auntie Belen and Uncle Pomping came to visit us and when I'm about to enter my room, I saw this pair waiting for me by the door. I didn't ask for any pasalubong but look! And the shoes fit me. How sweet of them. Again, thank you so much Auntie and Uncle! :)

When you work in a preschool, when a child celebrates his or her birthday, even if you're not his or her teacher, you'll still get something from him or her. Children giving me treats like this never fail to make my heart melt. Unfortunately, I didn't get to eat this cupcake because I'm avoiding chocolates as of the moment. Boo me.

This was a student's Christmas gift for me, a hand cream from Etude House. With it's "Sunny Sunny Apple" scent, I'd like to think that I give my hands tender loving care whenever I use this. It's cute too, don't you think?

While studying for their periodical test, out of the blue, a student in tutorial class shared that she ate pancit canton for breakfast. Guess what I ate for dinner last night. This is a classic example of teacher blues. :p

Happy Sunday everyone! :)

The Return of Itchyworms

" It's never over, what I feel for you... we're all getting older but my heart keeps asking why. Sometimes I miss you, I just wanted you to know. My heart never stopped, I just had to give up. I just wonder if you need me still, after all this time..."

It's refreshing to hear Itchyworms sing a song written in English. The band's latest single, After All This Time, proves that they've grown as musicians. This song is a far cry from their previous songs as this one's heart breaking. It can really pull the listener's heartstrings.

Welcome back, Itchyworms! :)

The 10th Day of March

Just taking a break from all the schoolwork and paperwork. I saw somewhere on Facebook the other day that taking a photo is already considered a "Kit-Kat moment". So please do understand why I have another vanity shot right here. Hihi. ;) Three more weeks and school year is about to end! I'm going to miss my toddlers but I'm also excited for summer (although I still have work). Looking forward to having luncheons and dinners with my family and long-lost friends. :)
