Today has been an adventure I will never ever forget. For the very first time in my entire life, I took public transportation and braved the strong winds and heavy rain. I didn't know what psyched me to commute on my own with this kind of weather. As a matter of fact, our family driver was just a call away but I decided not to call him. Of all days, today was the day when I felt adventurous.
My adventure started with riding a tricycle. I rode a tricycle to take me to the terminal. On the way, I prayed for only three things: 1. Make the rain "rest" even only for a while 2. Not be late for my tutorial sessions 3. Let this be a safe trip. It was raining hard when I arrived at the terminal and I was fortunate enough to find an empty jeepney going to my destination. I wasn't expecting this because I heard from my friends who commute that looking for a jeepney on rainy days is quite difficult. However, in my case, it's the other way around. Good thing. After thirty minutes, I was already at the workplace, feeling safe, happy, independent and brave in a way. I got wet, yes, but it's okay.
Do I regret it? No. :) For me, what I experienced today is something worth sharing. I guess I have finally moved out of my comfort zone and I'm no longer that afraid to try out something new. I'm taking my "adventurous self" to the next level, slowly but surely. Having said this, I am proud to say that I'm a big girl now. ;)
And oh, before I forget, just in case you're wondering... I didn't drive because the car that I'm using is still at the auto clinic and it's scheduled to be picked up on Monday. :)
