Red Flag Alert

There is something unsual to me this week. I've been acting so strange lately and it bothers me a lot. When I'm reporting or explaining something, whether in class or in a simple conversation, I stutter. Also, there are times when I feel that what I'm saying has no sense at all. Because of this, I guess some people raise their eyebrows or nod their heads because they don't understand what I'm trying to say. In a student's term, I'm in a soup mode (or more famously known as the "sabaw" mode). And it's not good. It's not that I'm being "crazy" like Britney. Auntie says I only lack sleep, that's why. I guess she's right. But how can I sleep early if there are a lot of school works all piled up? (since I entered highschool, 12 midnight is still early for me) You know, I need to catch up to reach my target grades, which are from 3.0-4.0 (ambitious, yes). I should be dead serious when it comes to academics now. I have to focus more! Focus!! Focus!!!

So this is the reason why I'm waving my red flag. And I'm missing my bestfriend. We haven't seen each other for more than two weeks. I have a lot of stories to share with her. *sigh* ('_')

The Challenge

I'm not supposed to go home in Laguna today, but here I am. As usual, I have a lot of school work to do, but I'm almost done. However, I still feel bad because of my first reflection paper. I didn't realize that our professor in this class wanted to read some experiences and insights from us that are related to our topics. She was not satisfied with what I wrote there. So for the second reflection paper, I really thought about what to write, and I even shared some experiences I've had. I slept at around past 1 am because I read and reviewed it. And just a while ago [in this class], I had another soup moment while my groupmates and I were reporting. It seemed like I didn't know what I was saying. After the reporting, I wanted to cry.

Actually, I feel afraid too for the reason that I'm not satisfied with the results I get from her class. Did I mention about the other classes as well? As you all know, I don't want to fail any of the subjects I'm taking up in school, most specially the major ones. One day, I talked to Danielle and shared with her my thoughts regarding school. Once again, I had a meaningful converstaion with her. I was surprised to know that she also finds our school works hard and yet, challenging. I thought about what she said and reflected on it, and I agreed with her in a way. I realized that the school works may be hard but they're challenging too since they enable us to use our minds to think critically. So when it comes to school stuff, I talk to her because she says things that make sense. I like it because I learn something from it. In addition to that, she always looks on the positive side. Her point of view about the good side of life somehow gives me a ray of hope. Go Danielle! v(",)v

So there. From now on, I would take every school work as a challenge and the pressure it gives me as a motivation for me to strive harder for the better. v('',)v

Good night everyone! v(",)v

Oh No! Oh Yes!

Oh no! I'm not yet finished with our online task for EDUTEC2. I've been infront of the laptop screen for more than two hours and I haven't figured out how to use variables and if statements in Flash MX. I'm in the panic mode right now because this online task is due tomorrow at exactly 8:00 AM. And I'm not a computer expert. What am I going to do? Naiiyak na ako!!! *cry-cry-sob-sob* On the other hand, I guess it is my fault too. I should have written what our professor said last Wednesday. I'm currently relying to the websites that has something to do with this topic (and Mau 1o minutes ago).

Oh yes! I feel that I'm going to repeat EDUTEC2 next year. Good luck to me, really. Bahala na si Batman. Oh well, I have to go and pack my clothes for the whole school week. Bye! v(",)v

Kailangan Pa Bang Mangyari Ito?

On a more serious note, Auntie Edy, we will miss you. We love you! God loves you!

*I'm going back to my business. School work, here I come. I hope I could finish my flash animation online task and the others by tomorrow. Wish me luck. By the way, Cente, I'm looking forward to watching another movie with you and your laptop. v(",)v*

There is a Time for Everything

It's funny when people ask me if I have "someone special" in my life at present. I don't know why they keep on asking me this kind of question. They don't even believe me when I say, "I don't have". They say it is impossible since I study in a co-ed school, where there are a lot of cute and good looking guys around. They even make predictions that there is someone who is courting me at the moment. HAHA. They really make me laugh.

Most of my friends are in this kind of situation right now. They are in the kilig stage and I'm actually happy for them. There are times when I tease them too. Oh, it is fun teasing those friends of mine who are in love, inspired, and floating with the clouds! Sometimes, honestly, I'm thinking about that too. I'm wondering how it feels like having someone who treats me as a special person in his life. I hope you get what I mean when I say his treatment is different from the treatment that my family is giving me. Okay, that sounds redundant. v(",)v

Am I ready?

As a teenager, I'm fond of buying magazines like Candy. I learn a lot from the magazine because like my family, it gives me enough reasons on how to be confident with myself and on how to adjust to teenage life. Moreover, it gives me tips on how to dress appropriately. Haha. Anyway, in the June issue, I got curious so I took the quiz about if I'm ready to have a special someone (I'm sorry if I keep on saying "special someone"). Well, I answered mostly letter Bs and the result is so true. Let me quote and share with you what the Candy team says:

"You're in love with the idea of having a boyfriend, but you aren't sure you're ready for the complications of a relationship. You like the thought of holding hands and bumping into your crush, but you're scared of anything beyond that. Chill! You're young and you don't need to rush getting together with anyone. When the time is right, you'll fall in love--- and you won't be scared to!"

Please let me stop at this point and end this one by saying that I'm not in a hurry to fall in love. I'm still young and I need to learn more about life. Marami pa akong dapat i-enjoy sa buhay ko bilang isang seventeen-year-old. Ayaw ko na tumulad sa iba na nagseseryoso na pagdating sa mga relasyon na ganito. It doesn't matter if my friends have a special someone and I don't, because I believe that the "perfect guy" for me will come someday. Darating din ako sa stage na iyan, kaya huwag kayong mag-alala. Like what the bible passage says, there is a time for everything. v(",)v

P.S. What about the crushes? Having a crush on someone is natural. It is not as deep as love. It is only, like what the elders say, the puppy love. v(",)v

First Round Hang-Over

I am not a fan of basketball. When the people around me talk about the Lakers, Celtics, or NBA, I feel that I belong in another planet. I can't relate to what they're talking about, so I end up being on my own, wandering around in my own little world. I'd rather read a book than watch a basketball game, until UAAP came into my life and everything has changed. The rest, as they say, is history.

Whenever DLSU has a game, I would find myself swimming in a sea of green. Everybody in school wears green or that ever famous Animoism shirts. Wherever I go, I could hear some students say, "Are you going to watch the game?" or "I want to be dismissed early so I could buy tickets!". These are the usual scenes that one would see every UAAP season in school. And when a basketball player is visible around the campus, people (mostly girls) can't help but stare at them, giggling, and whispering to each other. Well, we've been through these because we're used to seeing some of them everyday, and what matters to us right now is our studies, right? v(",)v But, when we have a free time, we try to buy tickets as much as possible so we could watch a game live (especially the DLSU vs. ADMU game).

Because of UAAP, I'm learning to like basketball. Although I don't really know the rules on how to play the game, I'd still cheer for our team. I jump and wave the green flag along with others when JV Casio and his fellow Archers shoot the ball. Nevertheless, I feel bad when the other team scores.

Last Sunday, as we all know, La Salle lost to Ateneo---again. Anyway, it always happen every first round. There would still be a lot more La Salle vs. Ateneo games in the future. Oh well, let us hope for the best. May the best team win! v(",)v

First Entry for July

First of all, I would like to congratulate UP and Ateneo for winning their first round against NU and La Salle respectively. It is a pretty good start for UP since the Maroons have just broken last season's record. On the contrary, I hope La Salle would win the next round. Of course, I'm a little bit biased because I''m an Archer. Haha.

I'm currently at the second floor cybernook of Andrew Building. To tell you the truth, I feel like I'm going to freeze anytime soon. The place is so cold and I don't have my jacket with me. I think that the coldness of the surrounding makes me clueless at the moment because I can't think of anything to say. And my hands are becoming stiff, I couldn't type faster. Haha.

Anyway, I have to go. We have class at 9:40 AM at the 17th floor and we don't want to be late because of the elevator traffic. Haha. Have a nice day! v(",)v

*I hope I could post something with sense next time. Happy Birthday to Cheska and Keithy! See you! v(",)v*

You Win and I Lose

It is so hard to be successful even though you have the desire to win in this battle. It doesn't matter how tough you are because in the end, you will be the one who'd breakdown and give up. Despite the fact that you are really fighting for what you believe in, it doesn't seem right most of the time. Their point of view is more reasonable and acceptable in the society at all times. Too bad.

This struggle makes me weak and all I can do right now is cry, cry, and cry. Honestly, I've used all the tissues around here to wipe my tears. It's like I'm watching or reading A Walk to Remember and The Notebook all over again. But I can't do anything about it. I just have to accept the fact that you win and I lose. I give up.

Stay happy always. Good luck. Bye bye.

Not My Day

First of all, I have a not-so-wonderful day today. It is somewhat tiring and overwhelming. I stayed in the computer lab at the second floor of the Andrew building only to answer the questions our professor posted on the IVLE for ECEDLAN. I also felt the pressure of ENGLRES because I had a difficulty writing two thesis statement for my research paper (special thanks to Icca, she helped me). Just a while ago, after three hours of staring at my laptop and typing and researching about the ICT initiatives, I finished doing the online task for EDUTEC2. Lastly, I thought that I wouldn't be a good pre-school teacher in the near future because I'm not as bright as the others. *sigh* My confidence level went down again.

Well I guess today is not my day.

In addition, I want to tell you that somebody's totally out of our life--- my life. I don't know if I would be sad or happy. But I suppose I feel sad and happy. Maybe this is God's way for us--- for me--- to forget about this person. Anyway, those years are enough. Let me take a break.

On the contrary, I had a wonderful dream last night. It was so unexpected but at least, it made me smile. If only I could turn back the time... Haha. v(",)v

I Don't Want to Go Back Yet

Good day to all of you!

I woke up this morning feeling sick. My throat hurt since yesterday, and I was sneezing from time to time. I asked Auntie Lucy if I was hot (as in with fever) but she said no. Maybe I got this from the bad weather and from eating too much sweets.

I guess having colds or fevers is the trend these days. And I go with the trend. Oh well, I think I'm responsible for what I'm feeling right now. Haha. Imagine, I always bring an umbrella with me but I don't use it. Everytime it rains, I walk in the rain. When I feel like craving for sweets, I eat ice cream or drink a super cold fruit shake. This is how odd I am.

Meanwhile, I'm enjoying my five-day vacation. Today is the last day and I'm making the most out of it. Moreover, we're celebrating the feast day of St. John the Baptist here in Calamba, and it happens to be Manila Day as well, which means no classes. Yay! v(",)v

On the other hand, I'm going back to Manila tomorrow. I don't want to go back there yet, even if I'm only staying there for a night. The thought of going at the dorm makes me...well...feel homesick. On the positive side, at least, Marita, Mau, Mela, and Joy are there to make me laugh and be happy. v(",)v

By the way, I wrote something in my multiply account yesterday. Please drop by if you have time. It's one of my serious posts. You can access to my multiply account by just clicking the link on the left side of this blog (danadoo). I hope I will be able to inspire or touch your lives in a way.

Happy Fiesta in Calamba and Happy Manila Day! v(",)v

*I think there is no need to feel bad or bitter at the moment. I found myself a new crush. His name is Nathan and he's my cousin's friend. He's so good looking and cute! I shall meet him soon! Haha.*

Uninspired

I actually have no idea what to say. Unlike before, my mind isn't overflowing with stuff to share with you. Beyond that, I have things to do but I choose to remain immobile at home and stay infront of my laptop reading blogs, checking and updating my online accounts, chatting with old and new friends, and downloading music. Instead of doing productive things, I'm wasting my time doing nothing and thinking about irrelevant issues that sometimes bother my mind.

Why am I so uninspired at this point in time?

It should be the other way around since I've got the chance to have some quality time with the special people. There are a lot of wonderful events that happened this week so there should be a reason for me to be inspired, right? But unfortunately, I'm not. Sometimes, this feeling leads me into the conclusion that, life is so strange and unpredictable too.

Without hesitation, I think I should go to bed and sleep now. Hopefully, I'll have my inspiration tomorrow. Good night everyone! Ciao! v(",)v

Rain Rain Go Away

Summer is officially over. The sky starts to cry out loud, giving away little droplets of water on the land. Lightnings and thunders are always seen and heard. And maybe, one of these days, there would be floods too who'll make it quite impossible for us to go outside our houses or school.

Just like yesterday, Ocha and I were stuck in EGI Taft Tower for a couple of minutes after making our flash character for EDUTEC2. We came from Andrew building and went to EGI to meet and say good-bye to Nikki. When we got outside the salon where Nikki was having her nails done, it began to rain. There was a strong wind and the entrance side (the one facing the school) was almost flooded. Even if it was raining so hard, we walked in the rain and went back to school. Unfortunately, I was wearing flip-flops. My feet were soaked in the mini flood outside EGI, and it left me a bad feeling.

I don't like rainy days, especially when I'm in school. I always wear flip-flops and rarely wear rubber shoes or sneakers. When it rains in Manila, my feet are not only getting wet because of the rain but because of the mud too. Honestly, it is really yucky. Taking a taxi or a pedicab is another option. I don't like to spend forty pesos or more since the dorm where I live is near the school. Hey, I would only cross the Taft avenue! Oh well, I guess this is a part of the college life. v(",)v

It doesn't matter if the rain nowadays is clean. I think I would love to play in the rain if it is dirt-free. However, because of global warming and too much pollution, the rain becomes acidic and dirty.

Let me ask you, who would love the rain if it's like this? I suppose, we'd rather stay in a building or inside a room and wait until it stops than walk, get wet and dirty, and sick. On the positive point of view, in times like this, we can't blame Mother Nature for doing such a thing. I believe she's just giving us what we deserve.

Good day everyone! v(",)v

*While walking on the grounds of La Salle Taft, Jalvin texted me last Thursday just to tell me that she saw Robi Domingo in Ateneo! Woohoo! Isn't she lucky? They both study in Ateneo and they belong in the same department. How cool is that? Haha!*

For You

This song Say It Again by Marie Digby is very, simple, sweet, and nice. Before I pack up my things for school tomorrow and study for our FILKOMU quiz, I'm going to listen to this song first to make me feel even better and motivated. So, this is my LSS (last song syndrome) for today. I really hope I do know how to play the guitar. Can you teach me please? By the way, this is for you. I hope you like it. v(",)v

Say it again for me 'cause I love the way it feels when you are telling me that I'm the only one who blows your mind

Say it again for me, it's like the whole world stops to listen when you're telling me you're in love

Say it again...

*I'm loving the song.*

Childhood Memories

Last Monday, we made play doughs. It was fun and easy, not to mention messy. It was like going back to our childhood as we played with the flour, mixed the "golden water", and squeezed the dough. We wanted our dough to be color gold but it became color flesh instead. Oh well, that's life. v(",)v We eventually got hungry after making our play doughs because of our theme, Gonuts Donuts. Our play dough slash donuts looked real and we kept on reminding ourselves not to eat them. Haha.

It was a wonderful learning experience for us, the future early childhood educators! Through this activity, I learned that play doughs aren't only for play. They develop the fine motor skills and the eye and hand coordination of the child. Also, they enhance our creativity and imagination. To end this, I will share with you some of the pictures taken, courtesy of Lo, during the play dough making. I'm warning you, don't be fooled. Haha. Enjoy! v(",)v

By the way, you can find the procedures on how to make play doughs. Just google it on the internet, okie? There are tons of them there. Good luck and have fun! v(",)v

*Congratulations Robi Domingo for being the 2nd teen big placer in the recently concluded Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition Plus.*

What's Up with People These Days?

Have you heard about Twilight, New Moon, and Eclipse? Many people in school are going crazy over them. I have blockmates who don't listen to class discussions because they prefer to be with Bella and Edward and witness their romantic yet different kind of love story. They're talking about them everytime and everywhere we go. They're becoming really thrilled and excited for the coming of the Breaking Dawn on August. And because of all this thrill and excitement around me, I'm thinking about getting myself a copy of each book to stop my curiosity.

Yes people, they're books written by Stephenie Meyer. I think these series would be the next Harry Potter. It's not about witchcraft and wizardry, but a love story between a mortal and a vampire. Like what the Publisher's Weekly said in the review, it is "Propelled by suspense and romance in equal parts [this story] will keep readers madly flipping the pages of Meyer's tantalizing debut." In addition, according to the review of School Library Journal, "The novel's danger-factor skyrockets as the excitement of secret love and hushed affection morphs into a terrifying race to stay alive. Realistic, subtle, succint, and easy to follow, Twilight will have readers dying to seek their teeth into it."

No wonder why my blockmates really love reading the Twilight series.

And speaking of books, I recently finished reading Eggs by Jerry Spinelli. It's a nice book actually and like Penny from Heaven, I learned a lot about friendship and forgiveness. In my own point of view, it's like a more mature version of the Little Prince. Try reading it too. I'm sure you'll enjoy it as much as I do.

"When you can live forever, what do you live for?"

*I can't wait to read these books. I would love to meet Bella and Edward! Oh well, I'll meet them...real soon. By the way, the first movie of this series, Twilight, will be in theaters on December 2008. I can't wait to watch it as well. =)*

Nakakatuwa at Nakakamangha

Sophomore Syndrome

I’m officially a college sophomore. My freshman year in La Salle seems only like yesterday. The pace of life in school is really fast because of the school system, which is trimester. Ang bilis talaga. The first day of my sophomore year is fine. There are a lot of new faces around the campus. It is easy to distinguish freshmen because they still depend on their EAF for their schedule. In addition to that, their EAF serves as their temporary ID. I’ve also seen some people I know. What’s more fun is that I can spend a lot of time with my college friends again and with my other block mates as well. (I love Block 1 L81!) By the way, the freshmen make me feel old. Hahaha. Of course, I’m only kidding. =)

On the other hand, I feel quite sad because school works are just around the corner. Sooner or later, our professors will give us tasks that we need to accomplish by the end of the first trimester. And the sophomore year looks like more complicated, academically speaking, based on the syllabus of the different subjects we’re taking up this first trimester. Our professors give the impression of expecting a lot from us too. Oh well, it is indeed good bye to summer vacation and hello to stress!

On the drama queen side, the first week of school makes me feel homesick all over again. I don’t know why I’m still not getting used to living far away from home, though I enjoy the company of my dorm mates/ room mates. This may sound like a cliché, but I think this old saying is definitely true: there’s no place like home. =)

One Special Night

Last night, my friend, Mye, celebrated her 18th birthday at Century Park Hotel. It was a night of fun and laughter. I felt so happy because I was able to be with her on the very special day of her life. This is truly a memorable one. =)

Happy Shalalala...

Tomorrow!!! Tomorrow!!! Tomorrow!!! I'm going to a debut party tomorrow!!! =) Okay, you might find it weird but honestly, I've never been to a debut party of a friend. I turned down the previous invitations of some friends slash classmates for some reasons. I explained to them why I couldn't go to their party. Their understanding made me feel very glad and thankful. However this time, it's quite different. For the very first time, my parents and auntie are allowing me to attend Mye's party. I'm so happy and excited!!! =) Yay!!! =)

On the geek side, I finished reading the book, Penny from Heaven by Jennifer L. Holm. It may be a simple children's (or teens') book but hey, I learned a lot from it. Even the adults can learn from it too. I won't tell you exactly what the story is about but I promise you, this is definitely a good read. =)

By the way, congratulations to David Cook, the seventh American Idol. David Archuleta, it's okay. I still like you. Haha. =) Good night everyone and thank you for reading!!! =)

Counting Down the Days

After one week and six days, I finished reading Queen of the Universe by Barbara Plum. Unlike the first two books that I finished for only two to three days, this book took a very long time for me to finish because it made me feel sleepy. Oh well, at least, I'm done with it.

I'm looking forward to reading two more books, Penny from Heaven by Jennifer L. Holm and Eggs by Jerry Spinelli (I think these books are for ages 9-12. Haha!). I hope I could finish the both of them by Sunday. I still have a couple of things to prepare for school because on Monday next week, my life will come back to normal...again. I have to say good bye to my beloved summer. I think I should obey Auntie Lucy's advice too--- sleep early and change my beyond the normal sleeping patterns. =)

Right now, I'm just counting down the days. In five days, I would be a college sophomore. Booyah! =)
