Bang Bang Boom

Hello again! I still cannot believe that we are going to say good-bye to year 2008! How time flies! There has been a lot of memories this year. May mga nawala at may mga dumating. We are able to learn from our experiences. So as we say good-bye to the Year of the Rat, let us forget the bad memories and keep and cherish the new ones. Let us put behind the old and unpleasant habits and change for the better. Like what Oprah Winfrey said, "Cheers to a new year and another chance for us to get it right." Tomorrow isn't just like any other day; Tomorrow, we will begin to embrace a new chapter in our lives. So, please allow me to take this opportunity to greet you a Happy New Year! Let us welcome Year of the Ox, 2009, with a smile! v('',)v

God bless you and take care always! v(",)v

'Tis the Season to be Jolly Fa La La La La...

Hello! Tomorrow is the big day. I believe that most of you are enjoying right now and could not wait to open the gifts from your loved ones. HAHA. Also, probably, some of you are preparing for your noche buena already. Say cheers to ham, queso de bola and fruit salad!

Like you, I am excited for the coming of Christmas. Unfortunately, some people cannot feel its spirit because of the crisis that is happening around the world recently. As a matter of fact, only a few Christmas carols are heard on the radio, in malls, and other places. The number of Christmas carolers and Christmas parties also dropped. In addition, I observed that the decorations of some houses become less colorful and attractive. I even heard people complaining because they do not have gifts to give and good food to eat. Christmas is not the same as before anymore. What is happening?

A priest in our parish once said that Christmas is not about expensive gifts, delicious foods, and colorful and attractive decorations. Christmas is about sharing our blessings and giving love, peace, and joy to others. On the other hand, expensive gifts do not matter. It is the thought that counts so be happy. v(",)v

We should not feel bad when we don't have gifts to give, delicious food to eat, and colorful and attractive decorations in our home. At least, we still have our family, friends, and loved ones to spend this very special day with us.

Merry Christmas everyone! May your Christmas this year be more meaningful and filled with love, joy, and peace! Let us not forget its true meaning, okay? v(",)v

God bless you all!

Kodak Moments

Pictures, as they say, are worth a thousand words. They have the capability of giving us a full description of what happened during a particular time and event. They also tell us the feelings, emotions, and state of mind of the people or things, whether they are happy or sad. Pictures are the frozen memories of our lives.

And as promised, I'm going to share with you our EK Trip last November. I compiled all the pictures that my friends and I took. We went there not just because we wanted to have fun. Actually, it was a requirement for our ECEDLEV (Early Childhood Learning Environment) class. We were given a piece of paper to answer, and the questions were based on the environment of EK. After working on the paper, we were given the freedom to do whatever we want!

It was a sweet escape from all the school work. Through this trip, we were able to destress and forget our worries.

It was really a super duper fun-fun-fun trip! After more than ten years, I was able to visit EK again. I was surprised to see different rides and places such as Rio Grande, Rialto, Ice Monster (yes, place din naman un ah...haha) and the latest addition, the Shake, Rattle and Roll House. Although I was not able to ride Anchor's Away, Jungle Log Jam, Rio Grande, and Space Shuttle for some reason, I promise that next time I would!

And oh, before I forget, let me include the pictures of my bestfriend Maggie and I during her six-day stay here in Laguna too.

Maggie's six-day vacation here in Laguna was cool! We did a lot of things like going to different places, eating in restaurants where yummy foods are served, sharing kwentos until the wee hours of the morning, watching Korean TV shows (may subtitles naman...haha), laughing, and taking pictures (our latest addiction...HAHA). There was never a dull moment with her. Thank you Bestfriend Maggie for everything!

I am very happy that cameras are invented because without them, we wouldn't be able to capture happy memories, the Kodak Moments, like these.

Good night everyone! God bless you all! v(",)v

Thankful

The past few weeks had been very busy and as always, I crammed and stayed up until the wee hours of the morning just to finish the requirements for the finals. I put an extra effort to everything so that I could catch up with the activities that I missed because I was absent for two days. It was not easy for me because I was still coughing and my nose was still running. Fortunately, I was able to follow.

I am aware that I am not blogging for almost a week now. I feel that I owe you kwentos (stories) so please, let me share with you some of them. By the way, the title of my entry today is "Thankful" because I'm thankful for everything that happened to me recently.

The Microteaching Activity

The microteaching activity is a learning experience for me. I was given the chance to spend some time with preschool children alone. Through this activity, now I know what I should and should not do to become an effective educator, when I begin my teaching career in the future. It really helped me.

My Bestfriend's Six-Day Vacation

My bestfriend, Maggie, stayed with us for six days. It was truly memorable and fun! We shared stories, ate a lot, and of course, laughed like there's no tomorrow. We went to different places and did shopping together. We spent those days catching up with each other. I learned a lot from her. And now, she is officially a part of our family! I hope that this would happen again next year. I am happy that she is my bestfriend.

End of the Second Trimester

Like everybody else, I am happy because the second trimester in DLSU is finally over. No more homeworks, quizzes, projects, and papers to worry about. I can finally sleep in peace. HAHA. I just received the course cards yesterday and I am very pleased, contented, and fulfilled with the results. The results were unexpected because I felt that my performance this term was not really good. However, despite my laziness and cramming, I got grades not lower than 3.0! Yay! I made it! I am still part of the list!

The Readers of My Blog

Yes, you, my dear readers. I may not be famous but I hope that I am able to inspire or touch your lives in a way. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! v(",)v

Let me end this entry by quoting a fellow blogger. I dropped by his blog while I was blog hopping then suddenly, I found this quote which truly fits my entry for today:

"If you want to be happy, count your blessings..."

So let's be thankful for the blessings that we receive everyday in order to be happy. Stay happy always! God bless you! v(",)v

*Post Script: Happy Birthday Sceiy! Enjoy this day!*

Everything I Learned, I Learned from My Teacher

Hello everyone! I'm happy to tell you that I'm feeling better now. Although I still have coughs and colds, my fever is gone. Thank you to those who texted me or commented on my multiply site. I really appreciate your "get well soon!" greetings. On Tuesay, I'm going back to school so see you all then! (",)v

Because I was absent for two days, I was actually worried about the school works and group works that I left behind. I missed my CURIDEV long test and our group's microteaching at St. La Salle Preschool. Auntie Lucy wrote a letter to Mrs. Evangelista, my CURIDEV professor, explaining my condition. So when I go back to school on Tuesday, I would approach her so we could talk about it. On the other hand, I texted Ms. Pinky, my professor in ECEDSCN, to excuse myself from microteaching. I gave her some time to think about what I should do. However, there's nothing to worry about in Kaspil 1 because my groupmates took good care of our final project. (Thank you for the nth time and I'm so proud of you! *tears of joy* HAHAHA.)

Honestly, I really am disappointed because microteaching is fun, most especially if you're working with the people who make you feel comfortable. And we prepared a very interesting activity. Oh well...

Ms. Pinky texted me the other day to inform me that I would lead an activity that is related to our topic. I'm gonna do microteaching alone!

Anyway, it's okay. At least, it would be a learning experience for me, right? I'm looking forward to teaching them on Wednesday. I will make sure to tap the science process skills and apply whatever I learned in ECEDSCN class (Ms. Pinky is totally knowledgeable in this area). It makes me feel nervous, yes, but I'm excited too! Wish me luck! And I hope that my voice is not this husky anymore. It may scare the kids. Just kidding. HAHAHA!

This is all for now. I'm going to start some of the school works so I would not sleep at the wee hours of the morning. HAHA. By the way, I will share about our EK trip soon.

Love,
Teacher Dana (",)v

I Already Learned My Lesson

Mga 2 Liters a day. Kasi, ayon daw sa result, mas malaki ang amount ng thrombocytes kaysa sa hemoglobin (kung hindi ako nagkakamali, red blood cells at white blood cells un) at may sinabi rin si Dra. Ninang about platelets.

Haay naku. I already learned my lesson. v(",)v

God bless everyone!
