Upon arriving home last Monday, I asked our kasambahay to buy me banana-q. I was one happy kid when I saw two sticks of banana-q on our table. Hihi. :)
For those who aren't familiar with banana-q, these are deep fried bananas (saging na saba) coated in caramelized brown sugar and are usually on a stick. This snack is so popular in the Philippines and millions of Filipinos enjoy eating it. It is one of the ultimate Filipino street food. ;)
The Tumblr Hopping
Decided to drop by Tumblr and look what I found:
I'm really tempted to highlight one of them but I guess I'll leave you wondering which one is it. ;)
The Worst Feelings in the World
* Failing a test you really studied hard for
* Getting replaced in a friendship
* Having something that you're looking forward to, gets cancelled
* Having to fight back tears in front of people
* Finding out the person you like, likes someone else
* Goodbyes
I'm really tempted to highlight one of them but I guess I'll leave you wondering which one is it. ;)

The Tuesday Playlist
When I'm not inspired to do something, I press the play button on my iPod and listen to music. For some reason, music inspires me to finish the paperwork that's due the next day (cramming at it's finest) or the things I need to prepare for my class. I usually stay away from the sappy ones because they only make me feel sad and think of a lot of things, that's why I play songs that are more upbeat and have a feel-good vibe.
If you're cramming too, well, good luck. I hope The Tuesday Playlist would cheer you up and inspire you to keep going. We can do this. :) ♥

The Happy Sunday
*February 17, 2013*
With my favorite childhood friends. We attended the mass together then had a mini-pictorial at home after. :)
The Extraordinary Japanese Restaurant
I've always wanted to eat at John & Yoko's since Teacher Mariel told me about its unique iced tea. I heard that it's one of our student's favorite drinks. That's why last Saturday, Margaret and I went to John & Yoko's at Alabang Town Center.
Whenever we eat out, we don't settle for what's "nakasanayan na". John & Yoko's is not your ordinary Japanese restaurant. Upon entering the place, you'll never fail to notice the modern interiors. I absolutely love the chairs that have animal prints on it. The walls on the right side have very interesting decorations and the shelves are filled with John and Yoko's framed photos and books. The walls on the left side, on the other hand, show clips of John and Yoko, using the LCD projector. It also has a mini-bar where you can see some of your favorite Japanese food are displayed. By the way, the restaurant looked empty because they're about to close when I took a photo of it. :p
Ahh, this is the iced tea. It comes in different colors: blue, red, and green. Margaret and I ordered the blue one. It's good!
Margaret looking happy and pretty... |
while I looked... hungry and uhm, nevermind. :p |
The meal wouldn't be complete without California rolls. This is my favorite Japanese food (aside from teriyaki) that's why I ordered it. John & Yoko's California rolls are very tasty. This is an exception to the rule of "don't order what's nakasanayan na". Hihi.
Margaret ordered bacon/beef enoki. It looks like a "meat lumpia". For meat lovers, I highly recommend this. :)
This is Japanese carbonara. The way to my heart is through pasta. :)) Kidding aside, I got curious with it so I ordered this one. Unlike the carbonara that we're all familiar with, this has shrimp powders, seaweeds, and shrimp. However, I gave the shrimp to Margaret because my allergies decided to appear on that day. Japanese carbonara, it's a must-try!
We left John & Yoko's with happy tummies. Next time, I'd try the chicken teriyaki and mango pizza. Sounds interesting, right? And I hope that when we go back, my allergies won't have a special appearance again. :)

If you never try, you'll never know what could have happened. Take a chance. May the paperman in this video inspire you. Good luck! :)
